Qualcomm Technologies International Ltd is seeking an experienced RF Analog IC Design Engineer to join their Cambridge, UK team. This Staff-level position is crucial for strengthening team capabilities in delivering innovative radio developments for next-generation Voice and music, IOT, and automotive products. The role requires 5 days per week onsite presence and involves working with BT5 classic and BT5 LE radios, chip interfaces, and clock generation circuits.

The position offers an opportunity to work within the prestigious Analogue/RF group, focusing on circuit designs for radio transceivers. The scope ranges from RF through to baseband and PLLs, with a strong emphasis on low-power design. The role involves complete ownership of the design process, from initial architecture selection to final delivery, and requires innovation to meet evolving circuit requirements in dynamic market conditions.

  • Work with existing design team on new radio developments for next generation Voice and music, IOT and automotive products
  • Development of BT5 classic and BT5 LE radios for future products
  • Design chip level interfaces, clock generation circuits and Xtal drivers
  • Lead junior engineers and act as cell design lead
  • Work with layout engineers to define floorplan and optimize layout
  • Collaborate with Radio system team to define system requirements
  • Perform cell characterization and take design through to production

Requirements For RF Analog IC Design Engineer, Staff- Cambridge, UK

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering with 4+ years experience, or Master's with 3+ years, or PhD with 2+ years
  • 5+ years of industrial experience in analogue/RF IC design
  • Experience with ADC, DAC, PLL, VCO, PA, LNA, Mixer, Filter, crystal oscillator
  • Solid understanding of analogue/RF circuit design and verification
  • Experience taking design from specification through to production
  • Familiarity with wireless standards: WLAN, BT, EDGE, GSM, LTE
  • Working knowledge of Verilog-AMS modelling, MATLAB and Python
  • Experience with laboratory equipment
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
