Staff Field Application Engineer – IEOT

Qualcomm is seeking a Staff Field Application Engineer to join their IE-IOT Task Force team in Tokyo, Japan. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge IoT focused SoCs incorporating AI, Machine Learning, computer vision, security, and wireless technologies.

The position involves working with a highly motivated team of experienced engineers and industrial players in the Japan region. The primary focus is on designing and developing system modules and products based on Qualcomm's innovative IoT SoCs. The role requires a strong background in embedded systems and software engineering, with expertise in C/C++ programming and Python.

As a Staff Field Application Engineer, you'll be responsible for understanding and implementing customer system requirements, communicating with internal engineering teams, and helping external stakeholders integrate their applications with Qualcomm SoC-based systems. The role involves significant technical support, including evaluation and proof of concept development, bug reporting, and providing technical training to customers.

The ideal candidate should have 4+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 3+ years with a Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields. Strong knowledge of embedded systems, real-time OS, and computer system architecture is essential. Experience with camera sensor bring-up, multimedia pipeline integration, and exposure to AI/ML frameworks would be highly valuable.
