Description For Junior Machine Learning Scientist/Engineer

Qureight is a MedTech company based in Cambridge, UK, with remote employees across the country. Founded in 2018, its mission is to combine cloud-based technology, machine learning, and life sciences to transform clinical data use for complex diseases.

As a Junior Machine Learning Scientist/Engineer, you will:

  • Help develop and validate machine learning models for analyzing clinical imaging data
  • Work on discriminative models for classification, semantic segmentation, and object detection in lung CT scans
  • Contribute to advanced models using self-supervised learning, image generative models, and multi-modal models
  • Assist in model research and development, scientific publications, and integration into production pipelines
  • Work with other machine learning experts on next-generation clinical machine learning models

The role requires strong machine learning knowledge and engineering skills. The machine learning team is based in London and meets twice a week in person. This is a hybrid position with flexible working arrangements considered for the right candidate.

Key Requirements:

  • MSc or BSc + industry experience in a STEM field
  • Full right to work in the UK without restriction
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in machine learning for computer vision
  • Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks

Additional skills desired:

  • Experience with various ML model types (segmentation, classification, generative models, etc.)
  • Knowledge of medical imaging (CT, MRI, DICOM, etc.)
  • Cloud-based environment experience (AWS or GCP)
  • Software development skills and agile methodologies

  • Experience with Python and deep learning frameworks
  • Comfortable with Linux-based operating systems
  • Experienced with git
  • Ability to produce production-ready Python code
