Description For Aerospace Engineer - Level 1

Answer Engineering, a Re Manufacturing company, is seeking a Level 1 Aerospace Engineer to join their exceptional team providing aerospace design and analysis services to companies worldwide. This role offers an exciting opportunity to tackle challenging engineering problems ranging from electric vertical take-off platforms (EVTOL) to space tourism.

As an Aerospace Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of various aerospace structures and systems, utilizing CAD and Finite Element Analysis programs to bring ideas to life. You'll be involved in creating, modifying, manufacturing, and testing new and existing aerospace vehicles. The ideal candidate should have a B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering or comparable education/work experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and analyzing primary and secondary aerospace structures and systems
  • Creating CAD and FEA models, technical reports, and customer presentations
  • Developing and implementing structural tests and experiments
  • Collaborating with internal and external engineering teams
  • Managing schedules and tasks to meet and exceed expectations

Responsibilities For Aerospace Engineer - Level 1

  • Design and analysis of primary and secondary aerospace structures and systems
  • Create CAD and FEA models, technical reports, and presentations for customers
  • Develop and implement structural tests and experiments
  • Communicate across engineering teams to make program critical decisions
  • Collaborate with other engineers, both internally and externally
  • Manage schedule and tasking to meet and exceed expectations
  • Develop supporting material for design such as bill of materials, assembly or installation procedures, and weight optimization trades
  • Support and collaborate with program management, analysis, procurement, and manufacturing teams

Requirements For Aerospace Engineer - Level 1

Python
  • B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or comparable education/work experience)
  • Moderate travel
  • CAD modeling and drafting parts and assemblies
  • Finite element theory and modeling
  • Technical writing and strong presentation skills
  • Understanding of aerodynamics and aircraft loads
  • Exposure to engineering software (ANSYS, Catia, LabVIEW, MATLAB, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Demonstrated involvement in hands-on projects (Formula SAE, SAE Heavy Lift, MiniBaja, BotWars, etc.)
  • Shop or hands-on experience; part fabrication and assembly
  • Exposure to composite materials and fabrication
  • Prior internships or relevant work experience
