Description For Technical Leader – Platform Automation & Developer Experience

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Technical Leader to spearhead their Platform Automation and Developer Experience practice. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on platform engineering, focusing on improving developer productivity through automation and standardization. The position involves leading the development of self-service platform components, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tools across a diverse technology landscape.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and leading a team dedicated to enhancing developer experience through platform automation. They will work on creating reusable platform components, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and establishing metrics to measure developer satisfaction and productivity. The role requires collaboration with multiple development teams and stakeholders across the organization.

Key responsibilities include developing strategies for improved developer experience, creating shared services for CI/CD pipelines, establishing standardized testing practices, and building observability into various development processes. The position requires strong technical expertise in modern software architectures, DevSecOps practices, and platform automation.

Responsibilities For Technical Leader – Platform Automation & Developer Experience

  • Lead/Build a team dedicated to improving developer experience through platform automation
  • Develop and implement strategy to enhance developer experience across the organization
  • Lead creation and adoption of shared service for CI/CD pipeline platform components
  • Partner with Development teams in creating shared, self-service library of platform components
  • Build observability into build chains, CI/CD pipelines, and automations
  • Establish metrics and monitor Platform products
  • Collaborate with Build/DevOps/SRE Engineers in pipeline support
  • Create standardized test cases in CI/CD pipelines

Requirements For Technical Leader – Platform Automation & Developer Experience

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • 8 years experience leading systems or platform development teams
  • Track record in modern software architectures
  • 4 years experience leading DevSecOps teams
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery practices, Agile/SAFe
  • Deep understanding of platform components, architecture, and lifecycle
  • Experience with innovation in platform automation and IDPs
