Salesforce's Office of Ethical and Humane Use is seeking an experienced ML data scientist specializing in responsible AI. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge AI development and ethical implementation, working closely with Einstein product teams, AI Frontier, and Salesforce AI Research teams. The position focuses on ensuring AI systems are built and deployed following ethical guidelines and policies.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assessing and implementing machine learning techniques while providing technical leadership to scientists and engineers. Responsibilities For Responsible AI Data Scientist

  • Partner with AI Research Science team to measure and remediate potential bias in data and models
  • Build datasets for testing models, both generative and predictive
  • Drive engineering investments in responsible AI to improve model fairness and safety
  • Develop quantitative metrics to help surface insights from structured datasets
  • Plan and conduct end-to-end experiments and analyses
  • Assist in data curation to develop safety detectors
  • Validate synthetic data generation and crowdsource jobs
  • Participate in labeling test data
  • Collaborate with industry leaders on improving responsible AI development

Requirements For Responsible AI Data Scientist

  • MS in a quantitative discipline with 8+ years of experience
  • Practical experience in machine learning
  • Fluent in building/prototyping machine learning models and algorithms
  • Knowledge of standard machine learning approaches
  • Proficient in Python and common machine learning frameworks
  • Proficient in SQL, shell scripting, and Unix/Linux command-line tools
  • Understanding of fairness evaluation in AI
  • Experience working across teams of engineers, data scientists, and researchers
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to creatively prioritize and solve complex problems
