Software Engineering MTS

At Salesforce Marketing Cloud, the role of Software Engineering MTS is crucial for the success of our global cross-channel marketing software as a service platform. You'll be part of a team responsible for supporting the Marketing Cloud platform with highly available, performant Splunk environments. This role requires a deep understanding of service delivery engineering concepts and practices, with the ability to resolve complex issues creatively. As a self-starter, you'll make quick, effective decisions and design solutions that reduce operational complexity and costs. You'll work on multiple projects of moderate complexity, demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods for developing solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership and accountability for actions, with meticulous attention to detail
• Provide effort estimation and complete work based on scheduled activities
• Craft, implement, and maintain custom self-service tools
• Define requirements and write/test custom tools for system automation tasks
• Develop proof of concepts (POCs) to evaluate technology fit for real-life use cases
• Maintain high standards for code quality and efficiency
• Participate in on-call rotation (approximately twice per quarter)

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of developing and running monitoring infrastructure
• Solid understanding of principles and concepts of modern service monitoring systems
• Experience with object-oriented programming
• Python programming skills for automating tasks like deployment and service tuning
• Understanding/management of code repositories (git/perforce/svn/CVS)
• Experience with developing for containerized environments
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DevOps environments
• Experience with AI / Machine learning
• Knowledge of Agile Development or Scrum Project Management methodologies
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
