Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Salient, an innovative AI workflow automation tool for lenders, is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in San Francisco. This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the infrastructure backbone of a cutting-edge fintech company working with major auto lenders across America.

As our Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable, production-grade infrastructure from the ground up for enterprise and big bank clients with critical data. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, security best practices, and modern DevOps methodologies.

The position offers significant autonomy and the chance to set technical direction as we transition to a Kubernetes-based architecture. You'll be working in an environment that values independent thinking and the ability to build systems that scale without extensive guidance. The role requires in-person presence in San Francisco four days a week, emphasizing close collaboration with product, engineering, and leadership teams.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Leading the architecture and implementation of scalable infrastructure for real-time AI-driven voice services
• Spearheading our migration from ECS to Kubernetes while establishing robust infrastructure practices
• Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for safe, rapid deployments
• Managing monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems
• Taking ownership of 24/7 uptime systems as the primary point of contact
• Implementing infrastructure automation through Infrastructure-as-Code

The ideal candidate brings:

• Extensive experience (5+ years) in DevOps or SRE roles
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms and containerization
• Strong software engineering capabilities in Python, Go, and Bash
• Expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools and monitoring systems
• A proven track record of maintaining high-availability systems
• Experience with real-time communication systems and regulated industries is a plus
