Staff Infrastructure Engineer

Salient is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, production-grade infrastructure from the ground up for enterprise, big bank clients with critical data. This role offers significant autonomy and requires independent operation, technical direction setting, and scalable system building.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement scalable, reliable infrastructure for real-time AI-driven voice services
• Lead Kubernetes migration from ECS and establish best practices
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for safe deployments
• Own monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems
• Serve as primary on-call contact for 24/7 uptime
• Automate operational workflows using Infrastructure-as-Code
• Collaborate with engineering teams on system optimization

Technical Requirements:

• 5+ years DevOps/SRE experience with project leadership
• Deep cloud expertise (AWS/GCP)
• Strong containerization experience (Docker & Kubernetes)
• Networking expertise in AWS
• Infrastructure-as-code proficiency (Terraform, Helm)
• Software engineering skills in Python, Go, Bash
• Experience with monitoring systems (Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana)
• Security and scaling best practices knowledge

The role requires in-person presence in San Francisco four days weekly, with long hours (8am-7pm typical). Experience with real-time communication systems and regulated industries is a plus.
