Samsung Electronics America is seeking a Senior Engineer III for System Structure Design to join their team in Plano, TX. This role focuses on ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of Samsung's 4G and 5G network products.
The position involves complex troubleshooting and resolution of customer issues within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You'll be responsible for ensuring that Samsung's 4G and 5G products, including DU, RU, CU, and AU components, meet customer network design requirements. The role requires expertise in multivendor deployments and interfaces like Open CPRI (ORAN), S1-MME, S1-U, and X2 IOT.
As a senior engineer, you'll lead technical discussions with customers, conduct performance analysis, and author technical documentation. The role combines hands-on technical work with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring both deep technical knowledge and strong communication skills.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in telecommunications engineering, with specific expertise in 4G/5G technologies, wireless protocols, and network optimization. A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required. Responsibilities For Engineer III, System Structure Design
- Troubleshooting and issue resolution in Samsung 4G and 5G products
- End-to-end performance assurance for 4G and 5G products
- Conduct trials and tune parameters to improve network performance
- Provide issue resolution in multivendor deployment
- Evaluate network performance by analyzing key KPIs
- Conduct deep-dive customer sessions for Root Cause Analysis
- Lead technical discussions on Samsung products/scheduler related features
- Author technical proposals, research, white papers, and operator network design
Requirements For Engineer III, System Structure Design
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field
- 5 years of progressive experience
- Experience with 4G/5G Call Processing including RRC, S1-MME, S1-U, X2, RLC, MAC, PHY protocols
- Knowledge of Wireless technology & procedures including LTE, Volte and 5G
- Experience with 3GPP RAN product architecture, design, implementation
- Knowledge of RF antenna technologies & network optimizations
- Experience with Massive MIMO, New Waveforms, LTE-NR interworking
- Up to 25% domestic travel required
