Sr. Staff Physical Design Engineer

Samsung, a global leader in semiconductor technology, is seeking a Senior Staff Physical Design Engineer to join their Austin Research and Development Center (SARC) and Advanced Computing Lab (ACL). This role is crucial in building excellence in Intellectual Property for high-performance computing devices across mobile, automotive, and custom market segments.

The position involves comprehensive ownership of RTL to GDS blocks, requiring expertise in floorplan, synthesis, place, CTS, and route processes. The successful candidate will drive design convergence while meeting ambitious PPA (Performance, Power, and Area) targets. This role demands strong technical leadership in solving complex block-level challenges and collaborating with various teams to optimize design methodologies.

The team is particularly focused on developing cutting-edge GPU technology, including the Xclipse GPU - the first mobile GPU with ray tracing technology for Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
