Sr. Staff Physical Design PPA Engineer

Samsung, a global leader in semiconductor technology, is seeking a Sr. Staff Physical Design PPA Engineer at their Austin Research and Development Center (SARC) and Advanced Computing Lab (ACL). This role is crucial in developing and innovating design recipes for Power/Performance/Area optimization in high-performance computing devices.

The position requires an experienced professional with 10+ years of experience (or equivalent with advanced degrees) who will lead PPA initiatives, drive methodology improvements, and handle hands-on implementation from synthesis to place and route. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with SOC/ASIC design flow, particularly in working with 7nm Finfet or smaller process nodes.

The role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology, including the Xclipse GPU - Samsung's first mobile GPU with ray tracing technology for Galaxy smartphones. The Physical Design group is part of a larger Design Implementation team, offering opportunities to learn different areas of design implementation and expand technical expertise.
