Responsibilities For Security Engineer
- Design and implement security architectures for autonomous surface vessels, ensuring compliance with DoD security standards
- Conduct threat analysis and risk assessments to identify security vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies
- Develop and enforce security protocols and policies for network, software, and hardware components
- Lead incident response efforts, including detection, investigation, and mitigation of security incidents
- Perform regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into development lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with regulations including NIST, FIPS, and DoD directives
- Maintain documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident reports
- Provide security training and awareness programs for employees
Requirements For Security Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
- Experience in cybersecurity, preferably within defense or autonomous systems sectors
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM preferred
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies
- Experience with security tools like firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and encryption
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (Python, C/C++, Java)
- Familiarity with secure software development practices
- Knowledge of network security, cloud security, and secure communication protocols
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
