Responsibilities For Electric Propulsion Engineer II (Starshield)

  • Design, analyze, test, and provide operational support for spacecraft electric thrusters
  • Work closely with manufacturing team to ensure efficient, reliable, high-rate production
  • Design, build, modify, operate and troubleshoot electric propulsion test facilities
  • Analyze and review data to ensure hardware operates as expected
  • Spearhead root cause investigations and component redesigns
  • Develop and execute qualification test plans
  • Balance rigor with risk tolerance for system reliability
  • Fully own critical spaceflight hardware
  • Work in an integrated collaborative team environment
  • Maintain a positive and constructive attitude

Requirements For Electric Propulsion Engineer II (Starshield)

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, physics, mechanical or other engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in academic research focused on electric propulsion or professional experience designing, testing, and analyzing electric propulsion systems
  • Ability to perform job duties in vacuum chambers
  • Ability to travel up to 10-15% of work week
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to conform with ITAR requirements
