Sr. Automation and Test Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Automation and Test Engineer for their Starlink project in Redmond, WA. Starlink is the world's largest satellite constellation, providing fast, reliable internet to over 3 million users worldwide. The role involves designing, developing, and building test platforms to validate Starlink software, developing software for test execution across multiple environments, and inventing tools for continuous integration and release systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and building test platforms for Starlink software validation
• Developing software for test execution in hardware-in-the-loop and virtualized hardware simulations
• Creating tools for frequent and reliable software deployment, test execution, and data analysis
• Analyzing test results and identifying bugs requiring in-depth investigations
• Working closely with developers to provide a reliable, fast, accurate, and easy-to-use integrated test platform
• Hands-on integration and troubleshooting of Starlink hardware/software
• Identifying areas for improvement in test systems and creating innovative solutions

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test system development, system administration, DevOps, or software/hardware development. Experience with Linux, Bash, networking protocols, containerization technologies, and RF systems is preferred. The role requires creative problem-solving skills, exceptional analytical abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
