SpaceX is seeking a Senior Network Edge Engineer to join their Starlink team in Redmond, WA. This role is crucial in shaping and implementing the systems that power Starlink's global connectivity infrastructure. The position offers a competitive salary range of $160,000 - $220,000 per year, along with comprehensive benefits including medical coverage, stock options, and 401(k).

As a Network Edge Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing and deploying interconnection infrastructure, including peering, transit, caching, and exchange strategies. Your work will directly impact millions of users worldwide by ensuring fast, reliable, and low-latency internet access through Starlink's revolutionary satellite network.

The role requires 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure, with expertise in BGP, IP routing, and network telemetry. You'll lead strategic initiatives in global peering operations, maintain critical partnerships, and work on automating interconnection workflows. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and requires occasional travel (10-15%).

  • Define and develop projects, milestones, and maintain roadmaps
  • Lead strategic evaluation of peering and transit opportunities
  • Build and maintain technical and commercial relationships with global peering partners
  • Design and maintain peering policies
  • Lead global IX strategy
  • Work with partner teams to automate interconnection workflows

Requirements For Sr. Network Edge Engineer – Starlink

  • 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure
  • Experience working with BGP, IP routing & network telemetry
  • Familiarity with IXPs, colocation environments, optical transport
  • Must be willing to do some travel (10-15%) domestically and globally
  • Must be available for on-call rotations
  • Must be willing to work extended hours as needed
