STS (Specialized Technical Services) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their Cloud Services team in Amman, Jordan. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on infrastructure and cloud engineering responsibilities. The position requires expertise in cloud technologies, virtualization platforms like VMware and Nutanix, and strong scripting abilities.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing deployment solutions, maintaining critical infrastructure, and providing technical leadership to the team. They will need to balance strategic technical planning with day-to-day operational support, including participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

The role requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience and a degree in Computer Science or related field.
Responsibilities For Sr. Systems Engineer, Cloud Services
- Plan and implement detailed deployment designs
- Write and maintain technical implementation documentation
- Manage and monitor systems and infrastructure
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems and applications
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
- Provide 24/7 escalation support for infrastructure
- Perform Project Management roles for Implementation projects
- Provide coaching and leadership for other System Engineers
- Run Instructor led classroom training
Requirements For Sr. Systems Engineer, Cloud Services
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject
- 6+ years experience in IT infrastructure, System administration, Cloud, or Virtualization
- Experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting VMWARE & NUTANIX
- Solid Cloud experience
- Experience with virtualization and containerization
- Experience with monitoring systems
- Experience with automation software (Puppet, Ansible, Chef)
- Solid scripting skills (shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
- Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
- Available for on-call duties
