Spektrum is seeking a Satellite Communications Engineer to support the NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) in Atalanti, Greece. The role involves installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of satellite communication systems, including baseband elements, RF elements, antenna elements, and monitor and control systems. Key responsibilities include setting up hardware and software configurations, conducting regular maintenance inspections, and diagnosing and repairing issues with SATCOM, Power, HVAC, security, and ancillary systems. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience as a satellite technician, good knowledge of electronic and RF measurement instruments, and excellent customer service skills. This on-site role requires 24/7 support and may involve some travel to other NATO sites. A valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance is required.
Responsibilities For Satellite Communications Engineer
- Install and configure all elements of satellite communication systems
- Update hardware and software configurations as required
- Support local Power technician in installing and setting up power generation, distribution, heating, cooling, and ancillary systems
- Conduct regular maintenance inspections of all SATCOM, Power, HVAC, security, and ancillary elements/systems
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks at various intervals
- Clean, grease, and adjust active and passive elements/systems
- Diagnose and repair issues with SATCOM and related systems
- Replace faulty components and update software as needed
Requirements For Satellite Communications Engineer
- At least 5 years of experience as a satellite technician or in a similar role
- Good knowledge of electronic and RF measurement instruments
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- National Certification: BA4 / BA5, Working at Heights (Kester)
- High school diploma or a degree in electronics or a related network/communication field with 10 years of experience
- Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance
