Description For Site Reliability Engineer, Backstage

Join Spotify's Backstage team as a Site Reliability Engineer and help shape the future of developer platforms. Backstage, born from Spotify's internal needs, has evolved into a revolutionary force in the developer portal space, serving engineering teams worldwide. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cloud infrastructure that powers a product used by engineering teams globally.

As an SRE, you'll be instrumental in building and maintaining the reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure behind our external developer portal product. Working with cutting-edge technologies like GCP, AWS, Terraform, TypeScript, and React, you'll tackle real-world challenges in scale, observability, and security. The position combines the excitement of a startup environment with the resources and reach of Spotify's established platform.

The role demands expertise in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and modern programming languages. You'll participate in on-call rotations, collaborate with security teams, and contribute to operational tooling that enhances service deployment and monitoring. While primarily focused on infrastructure, familiarity with fullstack systems is valuable as you'll work with a modern web stack.

Benefits include competitive compensation ($125,562 - $179,374 plus equity), comprehensive health insurance, generous parental leave, retirement plans, and flexible work arrangements. Based in New York with a hybrid work model, this position offers the perfect balance of collaborative in-person interaction and remote work flexibility.

Join us in revolutionizing developer experiences and be part of a team that's setting new standards in developer tooling across the industry. Your work will directly impact millions of developers and help shape the future of developer platforms.
