Senior Staff Engineer, Core Infrastructure

Stripe is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer for Core Infrastructure to play a crucial role in shaping the evolution of Stripe's infrastructure platform. As a financial infrastructure platform, Stripe serves millions of businesses globally, from enterprises to startups, helping them accept payments and grow revenue. The Infrastructure team is responsible for core capabilities that empower all Stripe product teams, maintaining six nines of availability while handling 50-60% YoY scale growth.

The role involves leading the design, planning, and maintenance of Compute, Storage, and Networking systems throughout Stripe. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Linux OS, Kubernetes, and advanced cloud computing, while managing one of the largest non-relational and relational storage systems. The networking teams have successfully protected Stripe from major DDoS attacks and improved system latency.

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you'll collaborate across teams to design large-scale capabilities, enhance engineering standards, and influence technical decisions. You'll mentor future technical leaders, participate in roadmap planning, and focus on scaling and automating infrastructure services. The role requires deep expertise in distributed systems, strong leadership skills, and a track record of optimizing reliability and security.
