Description For Wireless Network Engineer

Symmetrio is seeking an experienced Wireless Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain secure, high-performance wireless networks for our client, a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. The role involves configuring and installing access points, deploying tunneling devices, optimizing network performance, and ensuring robust security measures are in place. This is a remote full-time position that requires occasional travel to Philadelphia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy wireless networks (Wi-Fi, cellular), including access points and controllers.
  • Configure and optimize wireless access points (WAPs), including routers and switches for peak performance.
  • Implement and manage security protocols (WPA2, WPA3, etc.) and encryption to safeguard the network from unauthorized access.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve wireless network issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Conduct wireless site surveys and assessments to meet coverage needs.
  • Collaborate with network and security teams to integrate wireless solutions.
  • Monitor the performance, reliability, and security of the wireless network.
  • Perform regular maintenance and firmware upgrades on wireless network devices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Information Science Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of wireless network deployment and management.
  • Expertise in wireless networking standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of wireless security (WPA3, 802.1x, RADIUS).
  • Proficient in network troubleshooting and site survey tools.
  • Experience with Juniper networking and security products.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based wireless management platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Certifications (CWNA, CWSP, or MIST) is a plus.
