Android Developer

Teamified, a company that builds remote teams for Australian businesses, is seeking a Senior Android Developer for their client, an open-source private messaging application. The client has grown to over 1.2 million monthly active users since 2019 and focuses on developing cutting-edge, onion-routed, and end-to-end encrypted messaging tools.

The role involves joining a team of two Senior Android developers to enhance the app's usability, performance, and functionality. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of senior-level Android development experience, with strong expertise in Kotlin and both Jetpack Compose and XML-based UI frameworks. Experience with Java is beneficial as it's used in the application to a lesser extent.

Day-to-day responsibilities include handling backlog tickets, code writing and review, and collaborative problem-solving. The position requires experience with large-scale consumer applications and the ability to diagnose and resolve ANRs and crashes. The team particularly values candidates with open-source software experience and a passion for user privacy.
