Description For Engineering Technician, Tesla Bot (Night Shift)

Engineering Technicians within the Humanoid AI Robot team work side by side with Engineers to support and sustain the research and development of prototype robots and sub-systems. You'll be building/repairing the first iterations of the machines that make the machines, including highly actuated and electronically/computationally dense robots.

You will have a blend of hands-on builds and responsibilities around analysis, testing, and documentation. Projects are open-ended and often with limited up-front guidance. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in Mechatronics, Industrial, and/or Automotive, Precision Medical Device, Maintenance, and Testing. Must be a self-starter and efficiently work independently as well as in team environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fabricating, assembling, and integrating mobile robot prototypes
  • Developing test plans and test systems
  • Collaborating with Engineering teams to resolve mechanical and electrical issues
  • Providing detailed test status updates and daily bot inspections
  • Maintaining a clean and organized lab
  • Supporting bench-top electrical system builds and testing
  • Supporting low volume prototype part builds and testing

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Technician in relevant fields
  • Hands-on experience with various tools and equipment
  • Ability to interpret drawings, 3D CAD, and schematics
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience with spreadsheet tools and project management software
