Tesla is seeking interns for their Power Systems and Electronics, Energy Engineering program for Winter/Spring 2025. This internship offers opportunities in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
Power Systems interns will focus on power system stability modeling and analysis, particularly in integrating renewable energy resources like solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). They will use tools such as PSSE, DIgSILENT, PSLF, and PSCAD for modeling and simulation.
Electrical Engineering interns will work on designing and manufacturing power electronics hardware for various automotive and energy storage products, including Cybertruck, Powerwall, and Megapack.
Mechanical Engineering interns will be responsible for the design of cutting-edge power converters and high-voltage safety devices used across Tesla's product lines. They will work on structural, thermal, environmental, and insulating aspects of converter components.
The internship is expected to start in January 2025 and continue through the entire Spring term (April/May 2025) or into Summer 2025 if available. Tesla requires a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site commitment. Multiple locations are possible, including Palo Alto, CA; Fremont, CA; Los Angeles, CA; and Austin, TX.
Interns will be part of Tesla's year-round program, working closely with their Manager, Mentor, and team on critical projects. This opportunity allows students to grow technically, professionally, and personally while experiencing life at Tesla.
Qualified candidates should be currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. The ideal candidates will have outstanding academic performance, passion for hardware design, proficiency with basic EE tools, and a solid understanding of electronic circuits, magnetics, and capacitors.

The expected compensation range is $20.00 - $50.00 per hour, plus benefits, with the actual pay depending on factors such as location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
