Description For Internship, Technical Program Manager, Vehicle Software (Winter/Spring 2024)

Tesla's Vehicle Software Release Management team is seeking a passionate Technical Program Manager Intern for the Winter/Spring 2024 term. This role offers significant independence and ownership of projects, with excellent mentorship. As a TPM intern, you'll be responsible for end-to-end launch coordination of Tesla's over-the-air (OTA) software releases, ensuring smooth, on-time, and quick turnaround software launches. You'll work closely with the software release management team and cross-functional software engineering teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling and communicating software release target timelines to stakeholders
  • Coordinating the software release sign-off process
  • Managing scope, schedule, and launch changes
  • Communicating cross-functional deliverables for timely software launches

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering Management, Computer Engineering, or related field, graduating between 2025-2026
  • Prior experience in technical program management, software release management, or managing consumer electronics software programs is ideal
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or software release processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing conflicting priorities
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with software development and program management tools (e.g., JIRA, GIT/Stash, Confluence) is preferred

This internship is full-time (40 hours/week) for a minimum of 12 weeks, starting in January and continuing through April/May. The position is in-person at the Palo Alto, California location.

Tesla offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k), stock purchase plans, and various insurance options. The expected compensation range is $30.05 - $42.07 per hour, depending on level, plus benefits.
