Description For Low Voltage Architecture Engineer, Tesla Bot

Tesla's Low Voltage Architecture and Circuitry team is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team working on the Tesla Bot project. This role is at the heart of developing the "nervous system" for Tesla's cutting-edge products, including vehicles, Robot, and Dojo projects. The position offers an unique opportunity to work with 48V distribution systems and high safety integrity level systems.

As a Low Voltage Architecture Engineer, you'll be involved in the complete design cycle, from concept to production, working on energy management, functional safety analysis, communication layouts, and power flow systems. The role requires expertise in system-level power delivery, grounding, interconnect systems, and serial communication protocols.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise in electrical engineering and practical experience in circuitry design. Responsibilities For Low Voltage Architecture Engineer, Tesla Bot

  • Engineering responsibility throughout all stages: concept, requirements definition, prototype, architecture development, circuitry design, tooling, design validation and optimization
  • Design full bot circuitry and document requirements, calculations, design decisions, service documentation
  • Work closely with mechanical teams to provide electrical requirements and optimize distribution topology
  • Collaborate with Body Controls, Firmware, Systems Integration, PCBA Design, Materials Engineering, Reliability and EMC teams

Requirements For Low Voltage Architecture Engineer, Tesla Bot

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of design experience
  • Proficient in circuitry design (Altium or equivalent), harness design and best practices
  • Strong understanding of electronics, system architecture, physical communication layers and analog circuitry
  • Proficiency with lab equipment
  • Basic programming ability (Go, MySQL, HTML, CSS) preferred
  • Experience shipping high volume products preferred
  • Familiar with automotive design requirements preferred
