Tesla is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Vehicle Engineering Team, focusing on Interior Engineering. Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Interiors, Semi

  • Engineer, develop and execute world-class interior systems that exceed styling and functional targets and are compliant to regulatory requirements
  • Work through the entire product cycle with critical input early in development by collaborating with Tesla's design/styling and Engineering teams
  • Participate in the iterative process with all stakeholders to deliver the optimal balance of form, function, performance, and cost
  • Implement processes and material selections to achieve world class execution of automotive interior craftsmanship and fit & finish
  • Complete and release interior components, sub-system, and detail designs
  • Utilize DFSS methodologies during the design, validation and launch of the program
  • Collaborate with key interior system and plastic component suppliers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Tesla Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Procurement groups

Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Interiors, Semi

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Two years of experience in Product Development / Design Engineering
  • First principles, physics-based thinker, and problem solver
  • Understanding of latest design technologies used in Product Engineering
  • Experience with complex assemblies, engineering principles in design, prototyping and production
