Description For Software Engineer–Simulation (Simulation)

The Boeing Company is seeking a Software Engineer for their Simulation Integration and Modeling Behavioral Modeling team. This role focuses on developing sophisticated airplane behavioral systems using MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Fortran, and the Graphical Simulation Development System (GSDS). The position involves creating and refining simulated models within a fully functional simulation environment to test and validate airplane systems behavior.

The role offers two experience levels: Associate ($96,050 - $129,950) and Experienced ($118,150 - $159,850). The successful candidate will work in a casual but professional environment with multi-disciplined teams of engineers, developing innovative solutions for aerospace applications. The position requires 2 years of experience with key technologies and offers long-term potential for career growth into technical leadership or management positions.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with Boeing Commercial Airplanes partners, developing behavioral models, ensuring simulation accuracy, and supporting detailed test procedures. The role requires strong analytical skills, teamwork capabilities, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. The position is based in Seattle, WA, and requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer–Simulation (Simulation)

  • Collaborate with BCA and Lab partners to understand and define system requirements
  • Develop and integrate behavioral models using MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Fortran, and GSDS
  • Ensure that simulated models are accurate and reliable for comprehensive testing
  • Participate in the validation and verification process to ensure system functionality
  • Support the execution of Detailed Test Procedures by providing robust simulation data

Requirements For Software Engineer–Simulation (Simulation)

Linux
  • 2 years of experience in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Fortran
  • 2 years of experience in Linux Environment
  • 2 years of experience in Gitlab, Visual Studio Code
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Clearance
