Backup and Storage Engineer

Trafigura, a leading global commodities trading company, is seeking a Backup and Storage Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team in London. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's backup and storage infrastructure across their global operations.

The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge storage and backup technologies while ensuring data security and business continuity for a major player in the commodities trading sector. You'll be part of a collaborative team of six engineers covering Storage, Linux, and Virtualization towers, reporting directly to the Platform Architect.

As a Backup and Storage Engineer, you'll be responsible for architecting scalable storage solutions, implementing disaster recovery strategies, and optimizing storage performance across the organization. The role requires expertise in various technologies including Dell Avamar, Rubrik, Veeam, NetApp, and Pure storage systems, along with strong automation skills using Python, Powershell, and Ansible.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in backup and storage management, with a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. You should be passionate about problem-solving, process improvement, and strategic planning. This role offers exposure to global operations, as you'll be managing backup and storage systems from a worldwide perspective.
