Description For Data Analytics Engineer

We are looking for a Data Analytics Engineer to join our passionate and diverse Data Team. Treatwell is an organisation built on data, but we're just getting started. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping our future by ensuring that our data models and analytical capabilities adapt to the rapid pace of our business.

As part of the Data Team, you will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of our data products designed to empower analysts, product managers and key business stakeholders with valuable insights. You will collaborate closely with our data engineers and data product manager to understand their needs and translate them into actionable data assets.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in SQL to deliver the right data in the best format through self-serve tools. We value open-source platforms such as DBT, Docker, Gitlab, Grafana, Airbyte and Airflow orchestration in our tech stack. Our services run on a modern cloud platform using Amazon AWS, including Redshift, ECS, Lambda, Cloudwatch, S3, EMR, EC2 and Secrets. Additionally, we incorporate third-party tools like mParticle, Segment, Fivetran, Looker, JIRA, and Slack, while continuously evaluating new technologies to enhance our data strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with data product managers and various business teams
  • Perform data modelling using SQL, DBT, and LookML
  • Contribute to data warehouse strategy and design
  • Support integration of new data sources
  • Empower analysts and business users through self-serve tools
  • Manage data quality, documentation, and governance
  • Manage data exposures in Looker
  • Automate repetitive analyses and tasks
  • Foster a data-driven culture
  • Collaborate on broader analytics projects
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests and regular reporting
  • Create reports and dashboards as required

Requirements:

  • Experience with data modelling and design concepts
  • Excellent SQL skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with various business functions
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with version control and command-line interface
  • Familiarity with ETL tools
  • Analytical mindset with data warehouse exposure
  • Experience with BI Visualization tools
