Description For Identity Engineer (L2)

Join Twilio as a Software Engineer, Email Identity in the Customer Lifecycle group. This critical role involves building and maintaining the email communications platform, supporting daily interactions for thousands of customers worldwide. You'll be part of a team designing and implementing infrastructure for all customer activities, from sign-up/sign-in to account management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, testing, and deploying Identity features
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies and meeting sprint commitments
  • Managing work using GitHub, Jira, and build/deploy systems
  • Taking ownership of service reliability through on-call rotations and incident response
  • Collaborating across project phases to improve the email platform
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues independently or as part of a team
  • Ensuring clear documentation of projects
  • Continuously acquiring new technical skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of software development experience with highly available applications
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (Ruby, Go, Python, Java, or C++)
  • Experience in building and maintaining reliable, scalable software
  • Recent experience in designing and building RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong advocate for best engineering practices
  • Ability to resolve complex production issues
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a collaborative setting
  • Strong communication skills
