Description For Staff Software Engineer L4 (Warehouse Activation)

Twilio is seeking a Staff Engineer L4 for Warehouse Activation to lead a team focused on processing 1B+ rows per month, helping customers unlock value from their customer data platform (CDP). The role involves building and scaling systems that connect directly to customer Data Warehouses such as Snowflake and Databricks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and building the next generation of Warehouse Activation platform
  • Shipping features with high availability and throughput
  • Collaborating with engineering and product leads across Twilio Segment
  • Supporting platform reliability and security
  • Building globally available and highly scalable distributed systems
  • Mentoring other engineers in technical architecture and design
  • Partnering with application teams for end-to-end customer success

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 8+ years of experience writing production-grade code
  • Strong skills in designing and implementing distributed systems
  • Experience with Go, Java, Scala, or similar languages
  • Expertise in concurrent programming and Linux systems
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP)
  • Knowledge of message passing and stream processing systems
  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration frameworks
  • Deep understanding of high-scale web application architecture
  • Domain expertise in the Modern Data stack
  • Track record of successfully leading teams and large projects
  • Excellent technical communication skills
