Uber is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead teams in the space of consumer pricing, engagement, and incentives for Uber Eats. This role is part of the Eats marketplace organization and requires both technical and leadership expertise.
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will:
- Lead engineering teams focused on consumer pricing, engagement, and incentives for Uber Eats
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Partner with product owners, data scientists, and business teams to translate insights into solutions
- Develop a team with deep technical skills, coaching and mentoring individual contributors
- Work on projects critical to Uber's needs, collaborating across teams and functions
The ideal candidate should have:
- 9+ years of full-time work experience in software engineering and/or product development
- 5+ years of full-time Engineering Management experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make complex decisions in dynamic marketplace environments
- Great interpersonal skills and a track record of successful execution in cloud-scale product development
Preferred qualifications include:
- Master's degree or PhD in a technical field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing machine learning or deep learning solutions
- Experience in Reinforcement Learning, Bayesian Optimization, or Multitask Learning
- Leadership experience in backend platform and ML engineering teams
- Proven track record of growing and mentoring accomplished staff ICs and EMs
Uber offers a competitive base salary range of $252,000 - $280,000 per year for this role in both San Francisco and Sunnyvale, CA. Additionally, candidates will be eligible for Uber's bonus program, potential equity awards, and comprehensive benefits.
