Sr Software Engineer Android

Car Rentals is one of the verticals at Uber, responsible for enabling consumers everywhere to rent cars and get them delivered as easily as ordering an Uber. Car Rental has a presence now in US&C, UK and European regions and has ambitious plans. As part of this team, you will be responsible for building renter-side and earner-side experiences to drive growth, improve conversion rates, and reduce friction for our customers.

You will work closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and mobile engineers. Additionally, you will collaborate with various platform teams such as rider core, fares, and fulfillment, matching etc contributing to their codebases to address rent-specific use cases. We are seeking proactive, self-driven individuals with a strong sense of ownership, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a passion for solving user-facing problems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers to achieve project goals and deliverables.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and timelines.
• Come up with the right architecture and design for ideas and experiments to quickly scale.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight to the team.
• Own the success of your team's projects and deliver quantifiable results in a timely manner.
• Coach and mentor engineers to help with their learning and career growth.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Android (Kotlin).
