Description For Senior Distribution Automation Engineer

UPS Healthcare Logistics and Distribution (HLD) Business Unit is seeking a Senior Distribution Automation Engineer to join their Technology and Innovation (T&I) Team within the Industrial Engineering department. This role focuses on leading new technology development for operating in Healthcare/GMP facilities. The position involves identifying and implementing new automation technologies, developing user requirements, process flows, layouts, and validation protocols. The engineer will work in various conditions including ambient, cooler, freezer, and dangerous goods storage environments. Responsibilities For Senior Distribution Automation Engineer

  • Design and implement automated systems for diverse dedicated or mixed client environments
  • Lead collaborative discussions between departments and stakeholders for automation feasibility
  • Create detailed road maps for automation projects from conception to implementation
  • Perform engineering analytics and system reviews
  • Develop layouts, capacity, equipment, and validation plans
  • Prepare presentations for senior management
  • Lead and develop standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Identify and deliver project milestones
  • Develop specialized metrics and goals for programs

Requirements For Senior Distribution Automation Engineer

  • Experience with AMRs, AGVs, conveyance types, robotic arms, scanners, put walls
  • Knowledge of healthcare logistics and distribution including cold chain
  • Experience with healthcare clients including pharmaceuticals and medical devices
  • Project planning and implementation experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office & AutoCAD
  • Experience in Industrial Engineering and implementations
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Willing to travel up to 30%
