As a Senior Mobile Software Engineer at Upstart, you'll help design and build scalable, high-quality mobile applications using React Native. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver features that delight users and align with company goals.

The Mobile team at Upstart is building the future of our user experience. Our mobile codebase is React Native-first, and we're in the early stages of expanding from iOS into Android. Our work spans user-facing features, performance optimization, platform tooling, and tight collaboration with backend and design partners.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for an experienced engineer who wants to ship features, own technical decisions, and improve our mobile platform. You'll contribute to engineering quality through thoughtful system design, code review, and a focus on long-term maintainability.

You'll be responsible for:

• Building and maintaining user-facing features in React Native mobile apps
• Designing and implementing scalable mobile components and subsystems
• Collaborating with product and design teams on feature launches
• Contributing to platform improvements and tooling
• Working with backend engineers on API integration
• Identifying and resolving performance issues
• Participating in code reviews and architecture discussions
• Supporting mobile engineering culture through mentorship
