Senior Software Engineer, Auto Refi + Auto Secured Personal Loans

The Auto Refi + Auto Secured Personal Loans team is responsible for scaling our auto refinance and auto secured personal loan products. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll work closely with cross-functional partners to execute projects across the whole stack. You'll be making thoughtful architectural decisions, improving software quality, and delivering impactful solutions to challenging problems.

You'll be joining a highly collaborative team focused on increasing conversion by eliminating friction for customers while continuously improving product quality. The team works iteratively with fast feedback loops to quickly apply new learnings. You'll have the opportunity to lead successful projects, propose new ideas, and help grow both the product and your teammates.

This is a digital-first company where most Upstarters work remotely across the US, with offices in San Mateo, California; Columbus, Ohio; and Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of full stack development experience, strong SQL and domain modeling skills, and experience with modern tech stacks (Kotlin/Spring, Ruby/Rails, TypeScript/React). You should be comfortable with both independent execution and collaborative problem-solving, excel at communication across different audiences, and thrive in an environment that expects ownership thinking.
