Job Description

Voya Financial, a leading health, wealth and investment company, is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to join their technology team in Hartford, CT. The position focuses on designing and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions, specifically working with OpenShift and Azure Red Hat OpenShift platforms. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining DevOps CI/CD pipelines for various application stacks in public and hybrid cloud environments. This role requires extensive experience with containerization, orchestration, and modern DevOps practices.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Kubernetes platforms, particularly Red Hat OpenShift, along with strong skills in infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Python. You'll work collaboratively across teams, contributing to solution development and providing critical support for production infrastructure.

Responsibilities For Lead Platform Engineer

  • Design, implement, and support DevOps, OpenShift and Azure Red Hat OpenShift solutions
  • Build new and support existing Red Hat OpenShift and Azure Red Hat clusters/platforms
  • Develop new and maintain existing CI/CD DevOps pipelines solutions
  • Provide extensive hands-on support for platform administration and configuration
  • Research and develop potential system solutions
  • Work independently on medium-scale projects
  • Work across the organization with developers, engineers, and architects
  • Provide rotating on-call support
  • Work collaboratively with all IT functions

Requirements For Lead Platform Engineer

Kubernetes
Python
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Kubernetes platforms administration, preferably Red Hat OpenShift and ARO
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat/Istio Service Mesh
  • Extensive experience with containerization using Docker and Podman
  • Experience in Terraform, Ansible, Python and Helm
  • Proficient in DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub, ArgoCD, Azure DevOps Artifactory)
  • Strong knowledge of Application servers and Web servers
  • Experience in configuration and performance tuning of Java and .NET applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Certification in Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, and Azure Administration preferred
