Description For Full-Stack Software Engineer (2+ years experience: Canada)

Wanderlog helps make leisure travel easier. We believe that travel makes the world better, and are building tools that lower the bar to it. Our core product, built starting 2019, is a travel planning app (we're the top-ranked trip planner on iOS and Android), but we're also helping travelers book hotels (without hidden fees), providing them with information (through various pages on e.g., best attractions, restaurants, etc.), and more.

As an engineer at Wanderlog, you'll be responsible for owning portions of the product, building new features on our website and mobile app using Javascript (Typescript), React, React Native, and Node.js/Express. You'll design and decide what to build based on user needs, create data pipelines, write tests, debug issues, and review code.

We're a team of 8 (7 engineers and 1 designer) serving millions of travelers monthly. Our founders are twin brothers with experience from Stripe, McKinsey, and Google. We're an engineering and product-driven team that values work-life balance, with regular team lunches and twice annual travel offsites.

You'll work on exciting projects like:

  • Building user-friendly hotel booking interfaces
  • Creating AI-powered tools for travel content summarization
  • Improving our React Native mobile app performance
  • Developing Chrome extensions for travel planning
  • Enhancing collaboration and social features

We offer a collaborative environment where you'll work directly with founders and teammates who are passionate about travel and technology. Our values include putting travelers first, owning products end-to-end, treating teammates with respect, and moving fast while being smart about our technical decisions.

The role is perfect for someone with 2+ years of full-stack experience who loves travel, is comfortable with Javascript/React, and wants to join a small, high-growth team making travel planning easier for millions of users.
