Description For Full-Stack Software Engineer (New and recent graduates: Canada)

Wanderlog is revolutionizing how people plan and experience travel through their top-ranked trip planning app. As a full-stack software engineer, you'll join a tight-knit team of 8 (including 7 engineers) building tools that make travel more accessible and enjoyable for millions of monthly users.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to work across the entire stack using modern technologies like TypeScript, React, React Native, and Node.js. You'll have significant ownership and autonomy in designing and building features that directly impact travelers - from AI-powered content summarization to improved hotel booking interfaces and social collaboration tools.

What makes this position unique is the combination of technical challenges and product impact. You'll tackle everything from optimizing mobile app performance to building data pipelines and Chrome extensions. The team emphasizes moving fast while being thoughtful about technical decisions, and you'll be encouraged to contribute to product strategy beyond just implementation.

The company culture strongly values work-life balance and personal growth through travel. With twice annual travel offsites, team lunches, and flexible hours, you'll be part of an environment that practices what it preaches about making travel enriching and accessible. The founders bring experience from companies like Stripe, Google, and McKinsey, creating a culture that combines the best practices they've learned.

As an early career engineer, you'll get extensive mentorship opportunities working directly with experienced engineers and the founders. The interview process is thorough but straightforward - starting with an async coding challenge, followed by technical interviews and a virtual onsite. The team is looking for candidates who combine technical skills with product thinking and entrepreneurial drive.

The company is self-sustaining and growing, serving millions of travelers monthly. Beyond the core trip planning app, they're expanding into hotel bookings and travel content, creating plenty of opportunities to work on new challenges. If you're passionate about travel and want to help make it easier for others while growing as an engineer, this role offers the perfect blend of impact, learning, and work-life balance.

For Canadian candidates, this remote position offers the chance to join a Silicon Valley startup while working from home, with competitive compensation including both salary and equity. The team maintains strong collaboration despite being distributed, with significant timezone overlap to enable effective communication and pair programming when needed.
