Description For Software Engineer, Global Trust & Safety

Whatnot is seeking a Software Engineer for their Global Trust & Safety team. This role is crucial in building systems and features to ensure positive, safe experiences for users on the Whatnot platform. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in Trust & Safety domains, with a strong focus on product instincts and scalable system design.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building systems for user moderation and issue mitigation
  • Solving complex problems to monitor and detect bad behavior
  • Developing scalable solutions for rapid growth

The role requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across the full stack. The successful candidate will be comfortable with minimal guidance, have a track record of fast, high-quality feature delivery, and possess the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.

Whatnot offers a competitive salary range of $185,000 to $245,000 per year, plus benefits and equity. The company provides a flexible time-off policy, comprehensive health insurance, work-from-home support, and various care benefits including food and wellness allowances.
