WRITER is seeking a Software Security Engineer (Embedded) to strengthen their AI/AGI services security infrastructure. This role combines deep software engineering expertise with security focus, responsible for protecting users and their data through fraud prevention, abuse detection, and identity systems. The position requires 8+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in security-focused development. The role involves building customer-facing security controls, authentication systems, and developer-friendly security frameworks. Working in a hybrid setting in London, the successful candidate will collaborate with AI Security, Detection & Response, and Infrastructure teams to create seamless yet robust security solutions that serve millions of users. Responsibilities For Software security engineer, embedded
- Build fraud detection, rate limiting, abuse prevention, and LLM interaction controls
- Design and implement authentication and authorization systems
- Create security tools and dashboards for vulnerability tracking
- Develop secure-by-default APIs, SDKs, cryptographic libraries
- Implement multi-party authorization, secrets management, audit logging
- Deliver self-service security tools and frameworks
- Drive architecture of security systems and mentor engineers
Requirements For Software security engineer, embedded
- 8+ years in software engineering, building production systems
- 5+ years developing security-focused tools, libraries, or platforms
- Experience with fraud detection or abuse prevention at scale
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and API design
- Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or similar languages
- Proficiency with authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth, SAML, OIDC)
- Understanding of LLM security challenges and mitigation strategies
- Experience building high-performance, customer-facing systems
