Senior Data Engineer

Zanskar is at the forefront of revolutionizing geothermal energy exploration and development. As the most abundant renewable energy source globally, geothermal energy contains 2,300 times more energy than oil, gas, coal, and methane combined. However, traditional methods have made it challenging to locate and costly to develop.

The Senior Data Engineer role is crucial in developing and maintaining Zanskar's expanding data platform to realize scaled geothermal energy. The position requires a trusted leader capable of designing and implementing reliable data engineering systems that balance immediate needs with long-term scalability. The role involves working with various teams, including research, engineering, geoscience, land analysis, and field teams, making strong communication skills essential.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of software engineering experience and a proven track record of leading data engineering projects independently. Technical expertise should include cloud engineering solutions (particularly GCP), handling complex data storage systems, and implementing infrastructure best practices. The role involves working with diverse data types, from tabular datasets to complex voxelated representations of geothermal systems and multi-channel time series data.
