Principal Software Engineer - Risk360

Zscaler, a leading cloud security company, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for their Risk360 team. This role involves technical leadership, mentoring, and designing data processing pipelines for risk quantification. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team
• Designing data processing pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and analysis
• Developing product features related to data transformations, enrichment, and analytics
• Implementing robust security measures and ensuring compliance with regulations
• Establishing monitoring mechanisms for platform performance and health
• Collaborating with product managers, UX designers, and other backend teams

The ideal candidate will have:

• 10+ years of software development experience, with 5+ years in scalable data processing infrastructure
• Proficiency in Core Java, Concurrency, Distributed Computing, and SQL
• Experience with cloud infrastructure services (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Knowledge of container and container orchestration environments

Preferred qualifications include:

• Ability to write efficient code for big data setups
• Knowledge of NoSQL architectures and design principles
• Working knowledge of GraphQL and security compliance frameworks
• Experience tuning JVM for optimal application performance
• MS in Computer Science or related field

This is a hybrid role based in either San Jose, CA or Alpharetta, GA. Zscaler offers a competitive salary range of $175,000 - $250,000 USD for this position, excluding commission/bonus/equity and benefits.
