Recruiter from Big Tech Reached Out

I'm an L4 engineer at Instacart and just received an email from a cool, big tech firm saying:

Hi John,

I know our recruiting team reached out recently, and I wanted to follow up personally. I'm hiring for an Analytics Engineer Role, and your background looks like a great fit. You’d be partnering closely with PMs, Engineers, and Data Scientists to shape our products and build scalable data solutions.
This is the first of many Analytics Engineer roles we’re hiring, so it’s a unique opportunity to help define and shape the function at BigTechCo.
Let me know if you'd be open to learning more!

Best,

The role does seem cool, but I'm only 1 year into my tenure at Instacart so think I should stay put.

How should I respond? I'm assuming something along these lines:

Thank you for reaching out! The opportunity seems like a great fit for my skills and I also really like BigTechCo. I'm still learning a lot at Instacart so will politely decline, but am happy to be in touch down the line.

Is that the right approach?

Thanks!

    That's a great reply.

If you truly care about this company, my advice is to learn more about the role and build a relationship with the recruiter. You can still be upfront in your reply to the recruiter that you're not actively considering other roles, but you're still open to learning more.

The benefit of this is that you're more likely to land an interview later if you have a direct relationship with the recruiter.

Thanks! Might it be worth doing the interview anyways? My coworker is encouraging me to do the interview to stay sharp
