Team Matching on unrelated area

I have a team matching call with a manager who works on AI ethics & fairness. Personally I have never worked on this area.

It seems like the company that has only that team available.

How will I show experience in this field to the manager?
Will the behavior interview questions focus on the specific area of interest as well?
Is just showing interest in the area enough or expertise is required? This is senior/staff role.
