Pros: - Lots of opportunities for engineers who are open to challenges - Meaningful AI product - Flexible remote working culture

Cons: - Not for the people who expect minimal changes in the company and its products

Pros: - Exceptionally talented people, and the density of that talent is high - Compensation and benefits are above average - The product is genuinely loved by customers, and working in cybersecurity gives you an edge as a software professional - Exceptionally talented people, and the density of that talent is high - Compensation and benefits are above average - The product is genuinely loved by customers, and working in cybersecurity gives you an edge as a software professional - The company is growing fast, so there is real scope to take on bigger work and move up quicker than at a slower, more settled place - The problems are genuinely hard and adversarial. Attackers keep changing tactics, so the work does not go stale, and you are constantly forced to get better - You get to work with modern AI and machine learning on a real, high-stakes problem, not a toy demo. The tooling is cutting-edge and you use it every day - Teams are small and own a lot. You ship things that reach customers quickly instead of waiting behind layers of process - The mission is easy to care about. Stopping these attacks protects real people and real businesses from losing real money - The feedback loop is tight. You can see the impact of what you built in days or weeks, not quarters - Being surrounded by strong people means you level up fast. You learn more in a year here than in several years somewhere quieter - Leadership has a clear vision and communicates it. You usually understand why you are building something, not just what to build - Less bureaucracy than most. Decisions get made and you can actually push a good idea through

Cons: - The pace is intense and hours can run long. More focus on sustainable workloads would help people do their best work over the long run. - Shipping fast is a real strength, but it sometimes comes at the cost of building for the long term. More room to invest in durable engineering would pay off. - Some early architectural choices are starting to show their age, and "migrate from X to Y" comes up a lot across teams. Dedicated investment in platform and foundations would reduce that recurring cost. - Managers are strong on the people side, but many lean more toward people management than hands-on engineering leadership. Growing the technical depth of the management layer would help teams a lot. - There is room to build more senior technical leadership in the India office. Investing there would raise the ceiling for the engineers based here.

Pros: In this era of AI chaos, Abnormal's AI adoption and smart engineering team makes you realise how much fun this new era is. - AI focus is part of the core culture - Engineering team is smart and fun to work with - Hybrid work setup gives you flexibility while keeping you connected with colleagues for interesting conversations

Cons: Distributed teams can be a bit challenging for work hour timings, particularly for Asia regions.
