Pros

Good place to start, learn new things, and make social relationships. Depends on the project, but mostly flexible work hours. A lot of possibilities to change your specialty, have international business trips, or even maybe relocate to a different country.

Cons

Working conditions are very dependent on the project you are a part of. It can be a chilly maintenance project or restless development with strict deadlines and total mess.

Project type and load don't influence your salary. The salary level itself is below the market.

An employee as a person doesn't mean much; management doesn't care until serious concerns arise.

Low qualification of management and stupid, unweighted decisions are a common case. This applies to choosing new candidates to accept, assigning people to specific positions, or promoting existing employees. Promotion happens mostly based on some additional, not really main duty-related, contributions. The idea of the promotion system is that in most cases you need to do whatever but your main work—whatever sounds fancy and looks fancy.
