Great colleagues. I worked in the dock and worked with some of the best, hardworking, and underappreciated engineers during my time there.
Lack of promotion opportunities, seeing the wrong people get promoted at all levels, but especially at higher levels, is very frustrating. Hard work is not rewarded, and being female makes it even more difficult to get promoted.
Look at who is making hiring and promotion decisions in engineering. How could this team be made more diverse and female-friendly?
I liked how the interview panel wrapped up all the rounds in a single day. I had to take a total of 3 technical rounds and an HR round on the same day.
CV review → Short screening call → Main interview(s) with the hiring team → Task or practical assessment (if needed) → Final decision & offer → Background check & onboarding.
The interview process was well-organized, with five rounds of interviews. It started with HR, moving into technical interviews. Communications were clear and followed properly. Once confirmed, the offer letter took time to be received.
