Pros

Great collaboration and teamwork. Accenture is a very open environment for ideas. Your ideas count, and your points of view are always valued by internal and external clients.

Great benefits and access to top-of-the-industry resources.

Very exciting pace of projects, exciting clients, innovative industries and projects, and lots of opportunities to innovate. You can work from home, meet great and extremely smart people. Be ready; this company has very clever and very smart teams.

Great support from leadership and other teams globally.

Cons

Although I have a great opinion about this company, I like to help those coming from the industry. I worked almost 18 years in the industry before joining Accenture. I could never adapt to the chargeable hours thing; you have to justify every second you work with a WBS, which sometimes might not be as easy to get.

It is very global, and sometimes roles are very demanding and dispersed, with multiple bosses and command lines. Many leadership directions make for a really unfocused and confusing work environment. Every day is a very different day, which might not be bad for some people.

In my particular case, I needed more strategic direction and structure from leadership. I needed to have a clear vision and mission and not so dispersed functions. To me, the global approach creates too much conflict for implementing solutions, with too many teams, too many people, and resources doing the same thing based on their own understanding.

Not really a product company, you will work on what a client wants mostly, so be ready to not own the product and develop whatever the client wants. Some work, in my case, felt unrealistic, but I guess it is part of the innovation cycle.

Advice to Management

Improve and stabilize the business vision for some of the practices with better and more clear direction. If you are not considered to be a product company, then don't invest in creating assets. Otherwise, implement a complete and realistic product development practice.
